We offer boarding and broodmare management to Thoroughbred clients on our 400 acres nestled in the Kentucky Bluegrass near the historic town of Midway. As a small, hands-on Thoroughbred farm with 124 stalls, we offer personalized care to all horses. Our size also offers clients direct contact with owner Lyn Burleson and resident vet Modesty Burleson, VMD.
We will assist you in every step of the process, beginning with mating recommendations to help you select the stallion prospects which are best suited for your mare. Furthermore, it is vitally important that the mare be in peak condition prior to conception. We provide top quality nutritional plans to meet each individual horse's needs.
As a boutique Thoroughbred facitlity, we focus on quality care, not quantity. Each mare is foaled by owner Lyn Burleson, and he has direct communication with all clients. Burleson Farms also has a resident veterinarian on staff to assist as needed. Once the foals are on the ground, they are monitored and evaluated on a daily basis.
Burleson Farms is a start-to-finish Thoroughbred operation when it comes to breeding, foaling and then the commercial sale of your Thoroughbreds at public auction. As a prominent sales consignment, our track record for success at public auction is a result of our thorough sales prep process. We hold the record highest-priced Keeneland September yearling sold for $11.7 million.
We offer specialized boarding care for horses recovering from injury, surgery, or break from racetrack training. Burleson Farms also has a resident veterinarian on staff to assure each horse receives the attentive care it may require before returning to training or alternate career.
Our Facilities are equipped to care for horses needing to be isolated due to illness, and USDA approved for live horse export outside the United States. We also Provide state regulated quarantine for Contagious Equine Metritis (CEM) on mares only.
